Comparison of Hydraulic Seals

The discerning maintenance expert will analyze and compare the following factors:

How scoring occurs!

How scoring is prevented!
Conventional seals
DEPAC INSTANT SEAL
Conventional seals are comprised of leather, neoprene, rubber and/or fabric-reinforced elastomers and suffer from one or more of the following shortcomings...
Red Super Polymer and Purple Super Polymer are produced in accordance with the state of the art from the most modern and best raw materials. They offer...
1. LIMITED SHELF LIFE
Seals which age through the action of light, heat or ozone become hard and brittle. This results in reduced sealing efficiency and can even render the seals useless.
1. UNLIMITED SHELF LIFE
DEPAC's special and unique polymer material has a homogeneous lubricant component. Its shelf life is unlimited. Seals can be used without difficulty even after lengthy storage.
2. NEGATIVE LIP DESIGN
With a negative lip design, dirt and foreign bodies in the hydraulic fluid can be pressed between the seal lip and the cylinder. This leads to scoring on the cylinder and piston rod (expensive repairs), leaks and environmental problems.
2. POSITIVE LIP DESIGN
DEPAC's computer-designed positive lip wipes foreign bodies away from the seal face. There is less friction between the seal and the cylinder and therefore minimal wear.
3. ABSORPTION OF FLUID
Leather and reinforced materials absorb hydraulic fluid. The results are: swelling, softening, extrusion problems, excessive wear, filters clogged with fibers.
3. NON-ABSORBENT POLYMER MATERIAL
DEPAC uses a non-absorbent polymer material which prevents swelling and is homogeneously impregnated with additional lubricant to guarantee best sliding properties.
4. FREQUENT READJUSTMENTS
Many conventional seals have to be regularly readjusted, partly because of the problems mentioned above. This is time-consuming and therefore expensive but necessary in order to prevent excessive leakage.
4. SELF-SEALING
DEPAC's lip design was developed with integral preloading to be automatically self-sealing under high and low pressure. No adjustments or readjustments are necessary.
5. INSTALLATION DAMAGE
Great care must be taken during installation not to damage the sensitive seal surface. Damage can result in shorter seal life or even immediate seal failure.
5. INSTALLATION
DEPAC's unique polymer material features high wear resistance and elasticity, thus preventing the damage that commonly occurs during installation.
6. HIGH PRICES 6. VALUE FOR MONEY
DEPAC's seals are good value for money.
7. DELIVERY TIMES
Hydraulic seals of various makes sometimes have very long delivery times. For the customer this means higher stock levels and more capital tied up in stocks.
7. DELIVERY TIMES
DEPAC delivers its various seal versions within just a few days.
