The Problem Today it is customary to use individual endless rings for hydraulic sealing tasks wherever possible. In many applications, particularly on large machines, endless rings cannot be used however without the units being dismantled with a great amount of effort and at accordingly high cost. In such cases it is necessary therefore to use cut rings (like normal packings). The problem is that, in spite of the cut edges, the high pressures still have to be sealed off reliably and without manual compensation of continuous wear on the seal or the piston surface. The Solution To satisfy these requirements DEPAC has developed a solution which is based on its special, homogeneously lubricated Super Polymer and achieves optimum results in these applications. Case reports regularly confirm that seal life is up to 10 times longer than with conventional products. Thanks to this special material development, more rings can be installed in the same seal chamber. This provides optimum sealing reliability even for the highest pressures. An "automatic seal" can be produced by once-only compression of the set of rings during installation. No further readjustment is then required over the seal's entire life.
