- 322 Z for small stuffing boxes Dshaft 1“ – 1 3/8“
Convincing Arguments!
The cartridge design eliminates practically all the installation problems associated with the many individual parts of a double seal system. The cartridge is assembled in the factory or workshop and can be tested for leaks with a barrier fluid before it is quickly and easily installed as a finished seal in the pump. Gone are the days when a seal is installed in the pump at great expense of time and money only to discover that it leaks.
Double seals should always be used in tandem-active arrangement. In these designs the medium to be sealed is flung off the seal face by the centrifugal force of the shaft. The face remains clean.
The DEPAC stationary mechanical seal design has a tandem-active arrangement and therefore guarantees the greatest possible reliability of performance and the longest possible life.
Notes
If the cross-sections of the stuffing boxes are sufficient, Type 323 would be recommendable as the standard seal.
Standard glands are available as ECONOMY versions up to nominal Ø 70 (2 3/4"). For Ø 75 and above the glands are produced in round shape.
As a precaution when using double cartridge seals at operating pressures above 15 bar DEPAC recommends drilling the shafts or sleeves where the set screws are to be tightened in order to prevent axial shifts.
