Cartridges - Single, Economy

Notes
Some particularly small pumps come with very small stuffing box (SB) cross-sections.
The D1 dimension requires special attention therefore.
The distance D1 to the SB diameter should be no less than approx. 1 mm (0,039") in radius if at all possible.
As a general precaution when using cartridge seals at operating pressures above 15 bar (225 PSI) DEPAC again recommends drilling the shaft or sleeve where the set screws are to be tightened or securing the cartridge sleeves against axial slip.

Type 296
  • Welded bellows
  • Alternatively O-rings made of PTFE

Convincing Arguments!

The number of cartridge seals purchased and used in preference to other seal types is increasing steadily world-wide. Users are convinced by the simple installation and removal of cartridge seals. Difficulties and mistakes during installation are ruled out. Maintenance overheads are the same as for component seals because the costs of wearing parts and spare parts are identical. These are decisive factors in favor of cartridge designs.

DEPAC offers a wide range of cartridge mechanical seals. The various alternatives are based on basic design features: O-rings, rolled bellows and welded bellows.

The majority of glands are produced using the investment casting method which combines high precision and excellent surface quality with cost-effective production.

The STATIONARY design principle developed by DEPAC for the process industry ensures the highest reliability even in difficult seal applications.
